As I was listening to one of Thomas Friedman speech on America in the current century and how "Average" is officially out in this global world, I ran into shivers contemplating how the world is moving at such a rapid pace that if we don't keep the pace we will soon be "At World's end".
With no disregards to anyone, I have felt that we at current Mavenir and erstwhile Airwide are a laid-back bunch. We carry all our daily duties efficiently (Well, at least some of us ;) ) and go back to sleep a good sound sleep, ignoring our way into trouble that we are gonna face sooner or later in this competitive world. Most of us feel dissatisfied with what we are getting right now in terms of opportunities, in terms of learning, in terms of salaries, in terms of work culture, in terms of management or should I dare say mis-management. But none of us have ever tried to force our way out of this. We crave for the day when we'll be eligible for IJPP or get a good job offer from some decent company, better than Aricent. Well, that will be when it will be and lets keep our fingers crossed for "That day".
Till then we have to devise a way to be "Above average". So thinking about how we are gonna do this I just thought of creating a new blog which each of us can use for our technical growth. Each one of us can use this blog as a Knowledge sharing platform and can post something that will be useful for each one of us. I guess most of it will be technical as we are Engineers but for some of us who are avid readers as mentioned in their resumes, they can also post interesting articles or talks on this blog.
Lets create a positive attitude and contribute.
To end, in words of Steve Jobs "Being the richest man in the cemetery doesn't matter to me. Going to bed at night saying we've done something wonderful, that's what matters to me."
